Stephen Stills is on the road. Working the riffs and rhythms you know and love. Stephen has been out pushing his wares. His website is promoting the “Live At Shepherds Bush” CD/DVD. A really strong performance at a great venue outside London. And also released, a collection of 1968 demos called “Just Roll Tape.” Stephens career in music provides a great historical link to American culture of the late 60′s, and 70′s. It’s great to go back to Buffalo Springfield, CSNY, and get a flavor of the past. more…..

It’s tricky trying to describe Amon Tobin’s work. His latest work “ISAM” is an intriguing mix of texturing sounds. Electronic is a common identifier, but doesn’t fully grasp both the complexity and simplicity, the yin yang, if you will, of his sound. Combine that with a imaginative visual show, and you’re mind begins to melt. Sounds bring to life the visuals, or are the visuals driving the sound? One cannot help but ponder such things when witnessing his performance. He’s out traveling the globe with his cube of sound. Live or not, you got to check it out.

Adrian Belew Power Trio

He’s at it again…. Adrian is on the road and on the attack. He’ll be taking over towns with “Stick Men”. The trio, featuring Tony Levin and Pat Mastellotto, will tackle “crim-centric”material. New jams are bound to surface. One can’t help but wonder where Adrian gets his tireless energy. He’s worked with Frank Zappa, David Bowie, Talking Heads, Nine Inch Nails, and the list goes on. They have a nice selection of small venues. So get out and see the maestro with Tony and Pat.

U2 Third Leg

U2 is back for round 3 in North America. Fresh from South American dates in Brazil and Mexico, the band is ramping things up as they wind down the 360 spectacular. The stage has to be the most grandiose rock stage ever. Surpassing even the Rolling Stones for impressive staging. The U2 website now has “fan cam”. Pretty cool. Scary detail. Say “cheese”. Check out “I Will Follow” from Baltimore. Great “End of the World/I Will Follow” clip, “Beautiful Day” and “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me” performed in Nashville.

Clarence Clemons

Clarence Clemons, Bruce Springsteen’s “Big Man”, has passed away. On June 12th, Clarence suffered a stroke, seemed to improve, but couldn’t recover. Known for his blistering saxophone solos, Clarence also worked with Jackson Browne, Aretha Franklin, Ringo Starr, and even dove into acting. Clarence is survived by four sons.

Soundgarden Reunites

Soundgarden is back and blazing. The Seattle group disbanded in 1997. But in 2010, Soundgarden reformed for a couple of shows. Now, they’re in the midst of finishing a new album. Summer dates are planned, and Mars Volta will be an opening act.

Jagger Forms “Super Heavy”

Word is out. Mick Jagger is working with a new group named ” Super Heavy”. Teaming up with Dave Stewart, Joss Stone and Damien Marley, the group has supposedly been recording for the last 18 months. Even though Mick and Keith have been contemplating a 50th anniversary tour. there is no Rolling Stones tour currently planned. Some fans point to fallout from Keith’s lashing of Mick in a recent memoir. Others say the Stones are finished. But we’ve heard that before. And since neither Keith or Mick will deny a final tour, RockSite will keep the faith that a Rolling Stones 2012 tour is very possible, if not likely. Hopefully we’ll soon get to enjoy Mick and “Super Heavy”. The fans and road await. Oh yeah, Mick’s daughter Elizabeth has posed nude for Playboy. Time is definitely on her side.

Alice In Chains Bassist Dies

Former Alice In Chains bassist Mike Starr has passed away. He was reportedly found dead at his residence early afternoon on March 8th. Mike was 44 years of age. Best known for his bass work with Alice in Chains, he left the band in 1993. Mike’s passing is second to the band’s original lead singer Layne Staley. Alice In Chains is currently taking a break after touring hard on their latest album “Black Gives Way To Blue”.

It’s official. The White Stripes are calling it quits. Formed in 1997, the Detroit duo were catapulted into fame after the successful “White Blood Cells” and “Elephant” albums. The band had a ferocious decade of touring. Their performances infamous for their intensity and hard rock. Though divorced, the breakup doesn’t mean bad feelings between Meg and Jack. In the interest of preserving the sanctity of the band, they’re moving on.

Drummer and founding member of “Little Feat”, Richie Hayward losses his battle against pneumonia and lung disease. Formed in 1969, “Little Feat” has continued to work their music on the road and in the studio. Richie’s last performance with the band was July 11th, 2010 at Vancouver Island Music Festival.

Actor Dennis Hopper has passed away at the age of 74. No Steppenwolf fan can hear “Born to Be Wild” without visualizing Dennis and Peter cruising down highway in the 1969 movie “Easy Rider”. Getting first recognition in “Rebel Without A Cause”, Dennis made a career in Hollywood despite early difficulties.

Roger Waters Tours Again

Those that saw Roger’s last tour, got the whole “Dark Side of the Moon” album in the first set. Then, in the second set, Roger and his band ripped through a great set of his solo works. For those who have grown up with “The Wall”, but haven’t experienced Roger live, this is a great opportunity to see the master perform his finest work.
